I am attaching our Veteran's Day info for the community parade and our assembly at MIGC! Veteran's Day is a big deal at our school and we would love to honor our veterans in the best way! If you have a veteran in your family, please send a picture of the veteran and tell 1. their name, 2. branch of military, 3. how many years served and 4. who their MIGC student is that they are connected to! Next week is red ribbon week… Please see the attached flyer for our dress up days!! Thursday is our Costume Fun Run during your student's specials time which are listed on the flyer I sent out yesterday( and attached again). Families are welcome to come run with your student(s) on the playground! Students will be able to wear their costumes only if they pay the $5, but everyone will participate in the run! Students can bring their five dollars to the front office and we will highlight their name that they have paid and then they are able to wear their costume that. Every student will receive a popsicle at the end of the run! Fun times!

Don't forget that tomorrow is the field trip to the Air and Space Museum… Mrs. Doerr just got a call with great news from the museum letting her know that our kids will be the only school there and they will have instructors on site to do the stomp rockets with our students, and we don't even have to pay for it! How awesome! I posted info about the stomp rockets from their site below. But this means that our kids will not be able to eat lunch until 1:00. They are used to eating lunch right at 11:00 so we wanted you to have this information so that you can feed them a bigger breakfast if need be. Also, students are allowed to wear hats tomorrow. It's our bring a dollar wear a hat day since it's like a Friday! STOMP ROCKETS The simple science behind how rockets really work! Introduces very basic physics (Newton’s 3rd Law of motion) and the different parts of a real NASA rocket. Demonstrations involving rockets to further explain Newton’s 3rd law of motion. Students also get to build their own paper stomp rockets and launch them outside, next to our American Airlines MD-80, using air pressure to create upwards thrust.

Our fall parent teacher conferences will be on October 6 and October 12 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. They are 15 minute appointment slots and you will meet with all your students' grade level teachers. Music, art, and PE will be available both nights if you need to go by and connect with them. Conferences are scheduled through the front office only and by appointment only. Celebrating Dolly Parton! 🎀🎶 We are celebrating Dolly Parton on Friday, 9/25 (Working 9 to 5!! 🎤 🎶) for her incredible contributions to music, her kindness, and her dedication to helping others. From her legendary country music career to her Imagination Library, which provides free books to children, Dolly has inspired generations through her talent, generosity, and big heart. MIGC is selling chocolate again! Permission slips were sent home yesterday...please send it back signed on or before Friday and we will send home their first box to sell Friday afternoon! Thanks for helping our school raise money! 🍫🧡🖤👏🏽

MIGC student council applications have been made available and/or handed out, if students are interested. They are due this Friday, 9/25! If their application is fully filled out and approved, they will be able to run for the office they chose. Letters of approval or denial will be handed out Monday, 9/28. Approved students can campaign Tuesday through Thursday of next week, and speeches are Friday 10/2 at 8:45 in the gym. Good luck to all the students that are interested! 🧡🍀
