Santa Claus Coming to Coweta Thanks to Love’s Bottling

Love’s Bottling is bringing some holiday cheer to Coweta this season by sponsoring a special visit from Santa Claus. Families can stop by T-Johnny’s on December 10th from 3–5 p.m. to meet Santa, snap a photo, and share Christmas wishes.

This hometown visit gives Coweta families a convenient, close-to-home way to enjoy the magic of the season—no long lines, no long drives, just a warm community moment right here where we live.

Ho ho ho—see you there!

We invite all of our 4th grade families to come and watch our students perform their readers theater Christmas plays! All the plays will be performed in the cheer building, the white tin building that sits to the southwest of our playground and just behind the band room facing 147th St. You do not need to come to the main office to attend the play, but if you are checking your student out after the play, you will need to come back to the main office to sign them out. See the attachment for the play times.

Extended Enrollment: Protect Your Student’s Device With Optional Insurance

Coweta Public Schools wants to make sure every family has the chance to protect their student’s Chromebook or Chrome Tablet. Our device insurance partner has extended the enrollment window through the end of December, giving families a little more time to sign up—but we encourage you not to wait.

Accidents and loss can happen unexpectedly, and having coverage in place brings real peace of mind. So far, about 367 families have enrolled, and we want to ensure all parents and guardians are aware of this option before the deadline arrives.

Coverage Options

  • $25 – Covers the student’s device only (any model)

  • $30 – Covers both the device and the charger

Enrollment is handled directly through School Device Coverage, and no money should be brought to the school:

https://schooldevicecoverage.com/

If you don’t know your student’s device serial number, simply enter “TBD.”

Taking a few minutes to enroll now can help avoid unexpected repair or replacement costs later. With the enrollment period ending in December, we encourage families to act soon.

Thank you for supporting your student’s learning tools and helping us keep devices ready for daily use.

Good Morning! I continually brag on our MIGC staff. They are simply the BEST and have the most compassion and love for students that I have ever seen. Here is a wonderful way to show how thankful you are for the amazing people who give their all for your student(s) each day! It doesn't cost a thing, but it will be priceless to anyone who receives it! Please click the link below for an opportunity to show your gratitude. It will fill the buckets of any that receive them. In this season of thanksgiving, it will mean so much. Thank you in advance for taking the time to do this to let teachers know how much they are valued and appreciated during this season of gratitude. https://forms.gle/LDMk8S6zu32rVh6w7 G. Dear Coweta Families,

This is a reminder message about our Parent/Family Communication Survey and an update on the new location of our Parent Engagement Meeting.

We want to hear from you about your communication preferences and your awareness of district policies, programs, and initiatives related to student safety.  We are asking for your input in our Parent/Family Communication Survey. You can access the survey here.  The survey will close at 8:00AM on Monday, November 17.

On Tuesday, November 18th, at 6:00 p.m., the district will hold a Parent Engagement meeting to review the survey data. During this meeting, we will ask families to review the survey data and ensure that the priorities are aligned with your input. We will also review any costs associated with the priorities so we can plan our budget accordingly.

This event is only for parents/guardians of current Coweta Public School students and the facilitators. If you are interested in participating in the Parent Engagement event, please complete this form so we can plan accordingly.

* Please note we are moving the location of the meeting.  The new location of the meeting allows us to respect the privacy needs of the subject matter related to our students and their families.  This is not an open meeting or governing meeting. No voting will take place.  The private meeting is designed to listen to parent feedback and ensure the alignment of priorities to help us move forward.

What: Coweta Public Schools Parent Engagement Meeting

When: November 18 at 6:00pm

*Where: Community Baptist Church

                  28052 E 127th St. S.

                 Coweta, OK 74429

We appreciate your time and input and look forward to continuing to make advancements in our communication and processes as a Tiger family. Thank you for your continued support of Coweta Public Schools.
Sincerely,

Max Myers
Superintendent

Tomorrow is one of our most special days of the year. We will honor our veterans by watching the community parade and cheering our veterans on that drive-through around 10:00. It is going to be chilly and windy so please send your kids dressed in warm coats, hats and gloves, etc. and all the red white and blue you can manage!! Then we are inviting all our MiGC family veterans to join us for an assembly at 12:45 in our new gym. 5th grade will be leading our assembly so all 5th grade parents are allowed to come and watch their student perform. Please send all chrome books and chargers back full charged tomorrow! Have a great week!

Please read the following from Mrs. Hayes in 5th grade! Dear 5th Grade Parents/Guardians, We are going through the process of planning a Thanksgiving/Fall Fancy dinner. Your student is learning about the full process of planning a large dinner. We will be using a recipe to create a pumpkin pie in a bag for the students. This will give them real-world experience of creating a dessert using a recipe. I wanted to inform you that we will be doing this so I can be informed of any allergies or sensitivities that I may need to know about. Please send a note or an email informing me of anything that may affect your child while doing this activity. Ingredients include: canned pumpkin, milk (I also have almond milk as an alternative, but let me know if your student needs this), vanilla pudding mix, ginger, cinnamon, graham crackers, and optional whipped topping. I will also be asking for donations for these items if you would like to donate anything to support this project. I have attached the sign-up genius link below. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this activity. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F45A4AC2AA2FEC34-60053467-pumpkin

6th Grade Parents/Guardians, On November 20/21st sixth grade will be taking a field trip to Junior Achievement BizTown in Tulsa. We will divide the 6th graders up by the hours they attend Mr. Graham’s class. If your student has Mr. Graham during 1st, 2nd, or 4th hour he/she will attend BizTown on November 20th. If your student is in Mr. Graham’s 5th, 6th, or 7th hours then he/she will attend on November 21st. We will also need 18 parent/guardian volunteers for each day. Volunteers will need to arrive at BizTown 30 minutes prior to students arrival. Students will be leaving school at 8:35 a.m. and arriving at BizTown at 9:15 a.m. Students will need to bring a lunch or get a sack lunch from the cafeteria. Students will finish up at BizTown at 1:45 p.m. and return to school by 2:30 p.m. We are still need of several volunteers! BizTown is an interactive learning experience for students. It is set up as a small town with a mayor and multiple businesses. Some of the businesses are QT, Reasor's, Bank of OK, Schusterman Center, Chick-Fil-A, ONG, Sinclair, Cox Business, JD Young, Tulsa Tech and several others. Here is a link to take a virtual tour: https://oklahoma.ja.org/programs/opportunity/ja-biztown-3d-interactive-tour Students get to explore roles as citizens in a community. Each student will be applying for a job during Mr. Graham’s class. While at BizTown students will perform the duties that their job requires. Students will have the opportunity to set up a checking account, receive a debit card and manage their money. The cost of BizTown is $30 per student. If you are able to pay the whole amount we would appreciate it, but we are asking that each student bring $15 to help cover the cost of going. We also welcome donations to cover the cost of those in need. We are excited to give the students this incredible real-life experience. Thank you, Gentry Pierce MIGC Principal
