Please read the following from Mrs. Hayes in 5th grade! Dear 5th Grade Parents/Guardians, We are going through the process of planning a Thanksgiving/Fall Fancy dinner. Your student is learning about the full process of planning a large dinner. We will be using a recipe to create a pumpkin pie in a bag for the students. This will give them real-world experience of creating a dessert using a recipe. I wanted to inform you that we will be doing this so I can be informed of any allergies or sensitivities that I may need to know about. Please send a note or an email informing me of anything that may affect your child while doing this activity. Ingredients include: canned pumpkin, milk (I also have almond milk as an alternative, but let me know if your student needs this), vanilla pudding mix, ginger, cinnamon, graham crackers, and optional whipped topping. I will also be asking for donations for these items if you would like to donate anything to support this project. I have attached the sign-up genius link below. Lost and Found is piling up again! Please encourage your student to go by and look for items they may have lost! Also PLEASE put your child's name in their coats, hoodies, lunch boxes and water bottles. It really helps us out! Thanks!!

6th Grade Parents/Guardians, On November 20/21st sixth grade will be taking a field trip to Junior Achievement BizTown in Tulsa. We will divide the 6th graders up by the hours they attend Mr. Graham’s class. If your student has Mr. Graham during 1st, 2nd, or 4th hour he/she will attend BizTown on November 20th. If your student is in Mr. Graham’s 5th, 6th, or 7th hours then he/she will attend on November 21st. We will also need 18 parent/guardian volunteers for each day. Volunteers will need to arrive at BizTown 30 minutes prior to students arrival. Students will be leaving school at 8:35 a.m. and arriving at BizTown at 9:15 a.m. Students will need to bring a lunch or get a sack lunch from the cafeteria. Students will finish up at BizTown at 1:45 p.m. and return to school by 2:30 p.m. We are still need of several volunteers! BizTown is an interactive learning experience for students. It is set up as a small town with a mayor and multiple businesses. Some of the businesses are QT, Reasor's, Bank of OK, Schusterman Center, Chick-Fil-A, ONG, Sinclair, Cox Business, JD Young, Tulsa Tech and several others. Each student will be applying for a job during Mr. Graham’s class. While at BizTown students will perform the duties that their job requires. Students will have the opportunity to set up a checking account, receive a debit card and manage their money. The cost of BizTown is $30 per student. If you are able to pay the whole amount we would appreciate it, but we are asking that each student bring $15 to help cover the cost of going. Stuco is still selling tattoos for "Tat the Teacher" for this Friday!! We will sell them until Friday morning and then the teachers will have to put them on and wear them all day Friday!!

MIGC will host its annual Veteran's Day assembly on November 11th at 12:45pm in the new gym. Please see the attached flyer. 5th grade is hosting the assembly so we would like for all the 5th graders to wear as much red, white, and blue as they can. All veterans and any parents are invited to come watch your fifth grader sing/perform in the assembly!

Student Council is promoting our KINDNESS campaign with 13 days of kindness leading up to World Kindness Day on November 13th!! It starts tomorrow, November 1st-and even though some of the days fall on weekends, we ask that you talk about how to spread kindness with your child according to the schedule of days attached. Thank you!!

At approximately 1:30 we were given word that they found the leak and they are repairing it. I will send any update as soon as I know something. The dance is still going on at the I-high from 5-7:00. Thank you for your grace and patience in this matter.

MIGC Families: Due to a gas leak unable to be found at our site this afternoon/evening, we will not have school tomorrow at Mission IGC. This is for our site only. All other sites will be in person tomorrow. We are so sorry for the late notice and we hope that they will be able to find the leak and repair it in time for in person school on Friday. I will keep you updated tomorrow on the progress from ONG. Have a great evening.

There is a school dance Thursday from 5:00-7:00 at the I-high and there is a home varsity football game at the stadium across the road from the I-high. IF your student is walking over to the game afterwards, they MUST have a parent with them to get into the game. They will not be allowed in without an adult. You are responsible for your student knowing what they are going home or how they are getting picked up from the dance. There is no way to call or get messages to them through us. There will also be no supervision if they are walking over to the stadium. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
